What to expect in your first session

Sometimes people can feel: nervous, anxious and unsure in a first session.  First up! this is normal.  You are embarking on a new experience. There is no “right way” to show up. You are welcome exactly as you are, and together we can build a therapeutic relationship based on trust, compassion, and understanding.

The Space

This is a pic of my office,  I have tried to make this space soft and inviting.  I work from home in a small cottage.

The process

In the first session, this is a time that you can get to know me.  I explain how I work. Most importantly you can tell me about what you would like to gain from therapy.  Then we can formulate a plan of what might work for you.

Next Steps

At the end of the session, we’ll talk about what support might look like moving forward. You choose the pace, frequency, and direction. There is no obligation to continue — it’s simply an invitation to keep exploring if it feels right.
